Ozark City Schools is celebrating a period of remarkable achievements and growth. In 2022, two teachers were named Sweet Sixteen Finalists for Alabama Teacher of the Year, and Carroll High School received Cognia STEM Recertification. Mixon Intermediate was honored as a CLAS Banner School, while both D.A. Smith Middle and Carroll High were recognized as Purple Star Schools for their support of military families. A newly renovated Career Exploration Center is opening at D.A. Smith to give students early exposure to career paths. Partnerships with local businesses and Troy University are furthering educational opportunities, including a "Grow Our Own" initiative to cultivate future educators from within the district. Technology is also advancing with a 1:1 Chromebook initiative and a new Ozark City Schools app. The district is committed to continuous improvement through an updated Strategic Plan and invites community involvement, all under the unifying message of #ONEeagle—because Ozark Needs Everyone.
